Administrator Bootcamp
Join us on June 17 for an event to help you wrap up the 24/25 school year and start preparing for the 25/26 school year.
This full day event will be a combination of uplifting messages and ideas to help you start planning for the next school year. Topics will include but are not limited to; Relationship building, Culture and Climate, Academic program planning, new legislation and how it will impact your schools moving forward, plus other important messages! Speakers will include award winning principal Steve Baker, award winning author Jon Acton plus Executive Director of the Indiana Association of School Principals, Dr. Todd Bess.
This event is appropriate for any K-12 administrator or aspiring administrator.

Orton Gillingham for Primary Grades

The Reading Clinic of Central Indiana is an IDOE-approved provider.
Course Description and Objectives:
Day 1: All Grade Levels and Roles • Overview of how the Orton-Gillingham approach fits within a reading science framework • The importance of oral language development in supporting word recognition and language comprehension • Best practices for instruction and assessment of phonological and phonemic awareness • The importance of letter recognition and formation and best practices for instruction and assessment of letter knowledge
Day 2: Educators Supporting Primary (K-2) Students • Using a Picture Deck to teach letter names, sounds, and keywords simultaneously • Supporting students through stages of blending • Basic English orthography rules • Overview of kindergarten and 1st grade OG lesson components • Demonstration of (K/1) OG lesson
Day 3: All Grade Levels and Roles • Using a Basic Deck to teach phoneme-grapheme correspondences • Teaching common spelling generalizations • Supporting students to apply knowledge of syllable types to decode and encode unfamiliar words • Research summary on the importance of controlled, decodable text • Overview of 1st through 3rd grade OG lesson components • Demonstration of 1st/2nd Grade OG lesson • Data-based decision-making for primary students with word recognition concerns

• Card decks are not included in the cost of training.

• If participants do not have physical card decks, they may bring a laptop and use open-source online card decks in training.
